Four ways to use infographics in your marketing strategy

Infographics are one of the best ways to convey data into bite-sized information. Infographics are highly visual and can snatch your reader's attention, deliver a message in a second and translate complex information.

So, how can I use infographics in my strategy campaign?

I am showcasing four ways you could use infographics and data visualization to help you reach your goal.

1. Infographics for annual reports, investor presentations, and benchmarks

Purpose:

  • to be memorable

  • to highlight certain data

  • to inspire

  • to tell a story

  • to confirm or challenge

  • to make sure the message gets through easily

I have created extensive marketing documents that were meant for a highly specialized audience, but it doesn't mean that they were supposed to be boring. We retain more information if we see it.

2. Infographics for a website

Purpose: to create inbound links

  • to get leads

  • to improve your SEO

  • to educate your customers

  • to get viral

  • to encourage social media sharing

  • show a process

  • to bring traffic

  • to be different

  • draw attention

You can explain a process for example, how your products and how your services work.

Process infographics are a mixture of flowcharts (data visualization) and infographics.

3. Infographics for your blog

Purpose:

  • to create inbound links

  • to improve your SEO

  • to encourage social media sharing

  • to set yourself as an expert

  • show a process

  • to bring traffic

  • to be different

  • draw attention

Infographics in combination with social media, Pinterest especially, can bring lots of traffic to your website. Instead of having just text for your blog, think about translating some of the information into a sectioned infographic.

The beauty of a sectioned infographic is that you can use each section as a banner for parts of your blog.

4. Infographics for speaking presentations

Purpose:

  • draw attention

  • convince

  • make it easier to understand

  • make the information memorable

  • inform

  • challenge the audience

Usually, a presentation that is given to a broad audience needs great visuals and little content so people can retain the information quickly and see it from the back of the room.

Infographics are a wonderful tool when used the right way. Although they are powerful, the results can be disappointing when they are not done right or there is no strategy planned. Go ahead and contact me for a quick meeting to see how infographics can help your next marketing campaign.
